Researching MUSO Magazine

I decided to do some backgroung research into one issue of MUSO Magazine. I looked at the interesting bits and the general house style. This has helped me to think about the images I will need and the writing style to use when creating my own magazine.

I decided to create a contact sheet of all the title covers for MUSO magazine from which I could compare the house styles and find out whether the season in which the magazine was produced, affected the image on the title page.
Twelve out of the twenty-two magazine covers featured women which allowed me to come to the conclusion that featuring women on the cover would entice the readers. The image does not necessarily contain an instrument which also enabled me to think whether I would want to do so when creating my own. The camera shots consist of close ups to full shots, displaying the backgrounds, but the focal point of the magazine is the large image which dominates the entire page. Some of the images overlay the title, but some hide beneath it. This conveys the variety of styles which I could also use for my magazine.
